Caffenol Project 2023

Two of my favorite things are coffee and film photography. When I learned film could be developed using coffee (and a few other ingredients), I decided I wanted to take photos at a coffee roaster and develop and print the photos using the coffee that was roasted.

I spent much of 2023 creating a film and paper developer similar to the common recipe of caffenol but with espresso rather than instant coffee. I then partnered with Makeworth Coffee Roasters to photograph their roasting process and processed the film and prints using their coffee. For more info, visit caffenolproject.com
